SillBor (Borate) Clear Treated & KDAT – pressure treated with a clear chemical that protects against insects and then it is kiln dried after treatment (KDAT). This product is intended for interior uses. Note: Since it is kiln dried a second time, KDAT lumber tends to have more surface checks than normal.
Erawood Clear Treated & KDAT – pressure treated with a clear chemical that protects against rot and decay and then it is kiln dried after treatment (KDAT). This product is intended for above ground exterior applications. Note: This is our most popular KDAT. Note: Since it is kiln dried a second time, KDAT lumber tends to have more surface checks than normal.
Factory Prestaining – we apply your choice of Sherwin Williams Oil-Based Superdeck Semi-Transparent stain colors or their clear sealer.
Factory Fire Treating – we apply Flame Stop II Class A topical treatment. Note: If you need it prestained as well it will require TWO coats of water based (cannot use oil based) stain.
Doug Fir instead of Southern Pine – This product comes #1 Select Face just like our Southern Pine. Note: Southern Pine has similar span capabilities as Doug Fir for about half the price.
Cypress instead of Southern Pine – This beautiful naturally rot resistant product is custom milled to order in a #2 common grade. It will have some splits and holes so expect to do some trimming. Note: This option is normally about 4 times the price of Southern Pine.
Dense Machine Stress Rated Southern Pine instead of #1 Select – This is available only in 2×6 decking and boasts a 2.2 MOE (Modulus of Elasticity), a 2,700 Fiber Stress in Bending rating, and a #1 Select Face. It also meets the requirements for “Dense Standard Decking” as defined in the SPIB (Southern Pine Inspection Bureau) grading rulebook, and costs significantly less then 2×6 laminated that is sometimes specified to meet these strength requirements.
DISCLAIMERS
Note: Span capabilities are affected by several factors such as roof slope, wind loads, and snow loads. These differ from area to area and are governed by established building codes. Always consult local building codes and/or an engineer to ensure that the decking you are using is the correct thickness for your project.
