Goes by lots of names:  Dutchlap, Germanlap, Cove Siding, Novelty Siding, and more.  The official name in the Southern Pine Pattern book is pattern #105.  For decades it was the most common siding found on houses in the US.  It’s normally installed untreated then painted.  These days most people use it restoring old houses.  There’s even a trend to install it on the interior as an accent wall.
